The skyline of Shanghai past was dominated by the Bund, a row of impressive buildings constructed in the Colonial era along the Huangpu River. Now tourists walk along the riverfront and marvel at the newer highrises in the Pudong area on the other side of the river. The Bund at night is still a place to view the lights, but the future of Shanghai is across the river.
