Banff National Park
Spectacular mountain scenery of the Canadian Rockies with the Bow River flowing through Banff National Park punctuated by numerous whistles as Canadian Pacific freight trains roll through the valley draws millions to Canada's oldest national park, established in 1885. Lakes scattered throughout the park: Vermilion, Moraine, Louise, Johnson, Minnewanka, also Cascade and Pilot Ponds, reflect the peaks and sunsets. Views of Mount Rundle, Cascade and Castle Mountains and the Wenkchemna Peaks dwarf the green carpet of trees and stone hoodoos. Canoes and bicycles increase access to the park's attractions.
