Broadway and Telegraph Avenues in Downtown Oakland are lined with landmark buildings, including the narrow Cathedral Building, built in 1914, which straddles the two streets at Latham Square. Two theaters, the Fox Oakland, opened in 1928, followed by the Paramount in 1931. The Maclise Drug Store Building built in 1880 still stands. Newer office buildings reflect the Oakland Tribune Tower built in 1923. The two towers of the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building have increased downtown employment.
