Casa Grande Ruins National Monument

The Grand House completed around 1350 by the Hohokam people, features alignment with the four cardinal points of the compass and openings in its walls that align with the sun solstices and moon positions. At four stories tall, this was the largest structure of that time. Drought throughout the Sonoran Desert ended this culture as people dispersed to more fertile lands.
