Eureka & Ferndale

In northern California, wealthy lumber barons constructed Victorian mansions of redwood, filled with carved detailing and stained glass. Eureka, a fishing and lumber port, has the Carson Mansion, one of the largest and best-preserved Queen Anne structures on the West Coast. Ferndale, a small town near the redwood forests, is filled with Victorian era architecture, its buildings protected and proudly displayed to visitors.
