San Francisco hosts one of five Pro Cycling International races held in the United States. The 4th annual race in September 2004, was action-packed on each of the 9 ascents of the Fillmore Street hill, which has an 18% grade. The men’s race featured 21 teams, including US Postal Service/Berry Floor.

This year's race featured 24 teams. Roughly half of the cyclists (76) completed the 108 mile course, which again featured multiple ascents up steep Fillmore Street hill.
