SFMOMA & Yerba Buena Gardens

Just two blocks south of Market Street, between 3rd and 5th streets, the SF Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Gardens offer modern art and an urban park with fountains and performance space. Surrounded by downtown highrises, and located behind a waterfall, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial celebrates his life and speeches. The Metreon houses an entertainment center and movie theater. The carousel dates to 1906, and operated at Playland-at-the-Beach until 1972. Now owned by the City of San Francisco since 1998 it has been fully restored.
