Columbia River Gorge

The mighty Columbia River sweeps westward through a deep gorge that separates Oregon and Washington state on its way to the Pacific Ocean. Commercial transport, wind surfers, power plants, farmers and visitors all claim part of the river's bounty. Drive or cycle high above the gorge on the historic highway, built in 1911 that captures the inspiring views of this powerful river.
