Olympic National Park

Isolated at the tip of Washington state, in the northwest corner of the United States, Olympic National Park, established as a national monument in 1908, became a national park in 1938. Since 1981 it is also designated a World Heritage Site. Beaches, mountain glaciers, and temperate rain forests comprise a wilderness that is accessible by a road around its circumference and a network of hiking trails. The cool, wet weather reduces over-visitation.
